Steps to View and Print Portable Document Format files (PDF) files


The PDF file format is a common format found on the Internet. PDF files are smaller, and therefore download quickly.

Moving around the document

You can use the scroll bars at the side or the forward and back buttons on the bar above the document to move around the document.

This is the Toolbar from which you can choose what options you would like to pick.

polmem2.jpg (997 bytes) Zoom in closer if you are having problems reading the document.
If you want to enlarge the text or a chart, you can click on the magnifying glass that has a plus sign then click in the area of the document you want enlarged.
minus_sign.gif (899 bytes) Zoom out if you are having problems reading the document.
To decrease the size of the text or a chart, you can click on the magnifying glass that has a minus sign then click in the area of the document you want reduced.
polmem3.jpg (1048 bytes) Click and hold allows you to move the page up and down similar to moving a sheet of paper.
To return to the original size, use the magnifying glass (e.g., if you have reduced the size and want to go back to original size, then click on the magnifying glass with the plus sign then click in the document). When you have finished with the magnifying glasses, you can click on the hand symbol.

To view multiple pages use the multiple page view icon.
full_page.gif (989 bytes) Click this icon to view a full page within a document.
Document direction buttons Document direction buttons (Go to: First page, previous page, next page, last page)
To scroll between the document pages use the scroll buttons.
print.gif (921 bytes) Use this icon to print documents
You can also print using the Netscape print command if you prefer. Whichever method you use, the printed document will look the same.
